Whistle Dixie at Regent Theatre

This is truly a video discovering treasures. We were treated to a beautiful performance by Whistle Dixie in the Regent Theatre (formerly Herbert’s Theatre) in Islington, a picture theatre in days-gone-by on the corner of Maitland Road and Beaumont Street. The band, consisting of Rebecca Fitzsimmons (lead vocal), John Rorke (guitar / harmonica), Luke Jamieson (double bass) and Katelyn Grubb (backing vocal), seemingly silenced the traffic outside and even nearby construction during their performance of band-member John Rorke’s song, “Broken Tonight,” up in the old dress circle of the theatre.
